Trevor Kelly
Restructuring and Corporate Advisory
Trevor is actively engaged in corporate restructuring and advisory services. Most recently he took a position on the board of directors of an ASX listed company to develop a strategy to recapitalise and relist it onto the ASX platform.
The process was to take the business through a Deed of Company Arrangement and to transfer a clean shell to a new board. Trevor was not involved in the company prior to this restructuring engagement, which he saw through to a successful conclusion.
During the fourteen months of his involvement Trevor satisfied all compliance requirements - Corporations Act, ASX listing rules and other needs as mandated by the company constitution. At the same time he applied his practical insight into the capital finance markets and other management skills to various external company needs. Prior to this Trevor held positions in operations (most recently as Chief Operations Officer) for two ASX listed companies. One was in the telecommunications sector, the other with one of the largest privately owned professional certification training organisations in the Asia Pacific region.
Having attained a Master’s Degree in Professional Education and Training (specialising in Workplace Learning and VET), Trevor managed the latter company, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) through the status for the professional certification of major vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, VMWare, Citrix, ITIL, Prince2 and also as accredited testing providers through Pearson VUE and Prometric. Trevor was active in the establishment not only of the RTO within Australia but also drove the application process for accreditation of New Zealand Quality Assurance (NZQA) for their recently established Auckland branch but also CaseTrust accreditation for their Singapore branch.
Trevor’s first employment was with the Royal Australian Air Force as a radio technician and systems engineer. On leaving the defence force he held progressive sales and management positions that included Business Manager for Defence and Telecommunications in SE Asia for Philips MCS (a division of Philips Electronics). This led to his first contract role with the Department of Defence that lasted five years (initially set for 6 months). During this time Trevor received a Director General Commendation as part of the technical audit of the entire ADFCalibration Labs (Australian Defence Force) servicing Navy, Army and RAAF.
