Dr Walter Dolan is one of Australia’s leading expert finance professionals, with a visionary ability to plan for and steer a company towards sustained financial success. Having acted as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on four occasions, twice in a multinational company environment - Warner-Lambert Inc. in Sydney and Rockwell Corporation in Melbourne (both of which were headquartered in the USA), Walter is well-versed in the complex strategic planning that is required at the highest levels of financial management.

Walter has a strong foundation in cost and management accounting, particularly in the manufacturing industries, having previously worked with Warner Lambert Inc. and the Rockwell Corporation, along with a role as CFO with Industrial Psychologists, Chandler and McLeod.

Throughout his accounting career, Walter has been engaged in high-level compliance work, management accounting, forward planning, and financial analysis, equipping him with an impressive depth and breath of knowledge. 

Walter has lectured in various educational institutions on aspects of accounting and business management and was also responsible for designing and presenting the course, ‘Accountancy concepts, planning and control’ for the postgraduate program, Master of Engineering Management at The University of Melbourne.

In between other assignments, Walter has been engaged by both large and small corporates on a consultancy basis to provide; company appraisals, corporate planning - including SWOT analysis, feasibility studies, quality control and direction on executive review and selection. He has also consulted on company mergers, advised on how to improve profitability, reduce debt and improve a company’s accounting and reporting systems.

Walter is the author of ’33 Ways to Improve your Business’, a practical guidebook on becoming a better manager. His book is currently being used by educational institutions and individuals around Australia to boost the profitability and efficiency of organisations, both large and small.

Dr Walter Dolan is a chartered accountant, CPA, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom, has completed a Master's degree in Education and recently completed a PhD in Business Innovation.
